Just a Quick One

Hello Dears!
I will make this short and to the point because I...well because I feel like it. haha!

I've discovered a few happy websites that I thought I'd share with you all. You might have heard of one or two.

(for whatever reason the second link is not working right but you can type it in your browser or go to the first link, and click the other link at the top of that page) These are both along the same lines. They are filled with inspirational or sweet stories that will make you go awww or maybe tear up a bit. If you really need something to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, read away!

A popular site, and pretty self explanatory. People post their text conversations for you to laugh at, and they are freaking hilarious!!! If you need a laugh, it's perfect!

Some of these are comical, some outrageous, and some kind of sad. People post the crappy stuff that happens in their lives, and you can rate them too.

I am a big fan of this site! It's updated once a week with new secrets. They even have some books published. People from all over the place send it their secrets in the forms of an artistic postcard. Some are silly, some sad.

Happy Surfing!

Like to sew? Check out the Joann's sale!

Hello people! I meant to write this days ago, but as usual, got distracted. Joann's is having quite a few pattern sales over the next few weeks and I thought I'd share. The one part I'm not sure about is if this pertains to all Joann's stores or just select ones. That's easily remedied- just call the one by your house and check.

Memorial Day Sale Tomorrow: Simplicity patterns are 5 for $5, with a limit of 10. Now normally New Look patterns aren't included in these sales, but check with a clerk just in case. Normally Simplicity patterns range from $3-$10, so it's a pretty awesome deal. If you are a beginning seamstress(or seamster?, not even sure if that's a word), this brand is a good place to start.

Thurs-Sat June 3-5: Mcall's patterns are $1.99 and Vogue patterns are $3.99. Mcall's are pretty simple, and vogue stuff is awesome, but I wouldn't recommend those unless you know what you're doing. There's a limit of 10, but I'm not sure whether that's total, or each brand. Forgive me, I know I normally have more solid info, but I haven't been able to find out as much lately. You can blame school for that. :(

Thurs-Sat June 10-12: Butterick patterns are on sale for $1.99 with a limit of 10. I haven't done one of these in a while, but I think they were pretty simple.

As always, Enjoy!

Oh, and for those of you that live in the DFW area and want to see that movie Splice, check your myspaces. You can get free tickets to see it's advance screening on June 2nd. It should be under the recommended events on the right side of the page.

Feeling amorous?

I know, I need to find more free things to put on here. Thanks to school, my time is spoken for, so I haven't had much research time. Instead I just put whatever thoughts pop into my head on here. I do try to at least make them useful or entertaining thoughts for y'all. :)

I have started to read more lately, and thought I'd share. For those of you who like romance novels, you NEED to read some of the stuff Johanna Lindsey has written. She writes historical romance. Just to clarify, they have actual plots. It's not the whole "boy likes girl, girl likes boy, lots of sex, and then repeat" thing. Her stories have witty characters, and assuming you like the romance genre, you will definitely have some laughs. Or perhaps if you just want an interesting summer read, they're good ones!

Since she has written a ton of them, in case you want some good ones to start with, here's some of my favorites:

If it has anything to do with the Malory family, read it!!
Once A Princess
Angel*
Glorious Angel
The Pursuit
Love Only Once*
A Man To Call My Own*
All I Need Is You*
Say You Love Me*
Gentle Rogue*
Love Me Forever*
Heart of Thunder
Brave the Wild Wind

and many many others.....

Happy reading!

Oh, and a friend of mine introduced me to these videos. If you need a laugh, it's worth watching.
Youtube is being a pain with the whole embedding thing, so I have to just post the link. Grrrr...

Just a quick thought

This has nothing to do with free stuff or activities. I have to wait for school to finally end before I can get back to this. Ugh. I just wanted to tell you guys that if you love someone, TELL THEM! Family, friends, your lifetime crush, tell them all. Life is short, why waste it pining away?

That's all :)

oh, and here's a commercial that makes me laugh. Enjoy!

Watermark Church & Some Other Stuff

Hello lovelies! I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying this rainy weather! I figure, since I'm in a good mood, I should provide a happy blog for you as well. Firstly, I want to encourage all of you to check out my previous blogs. Some of them are filled with things you can do year long, or at least seasonally. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can click the link that says older posts. I try to go through and delete the ones that are no longer relevant so it won't take so long for you guys to sort through. I have a few different things for you guys today. Also, I can't make up my mind on how to format this, so the colors are all over the place. Whatever, learn to enjoy it! :D

Firstly, I did mention a few blogs ago that I was going to talk about Watermark church. I started going a few weeks ago and it's pretty awesome. The sermons are great, and they offer all sorts of classes that I've heard wonderful things about, so I'm going to be putting one on here for each blog until I've got them all covered.

Watermark's Address
7540 LBJ Freeway
Dallas, Tx 75251

Sunday's service times are 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and for you late risers, 5:30 p.m. Right now they are doing an awesome 3 part series on conflict. The first one was last week, and seriously, it was phenomenal!

To view last weeks sermon and gets caught up, go to www.watermarkradio.com. It's the video titled Pseudo-Christianity: The Result of Dealing With Conflict Without God in Our Corner. You can watch the video, listen to the audio, download it for free, or order it.

Now, that's for the sermons and whatnot. Watermark also offers all kinds of classes- premarital counseling, as well as some for dealing with, anger, addiction, divorce, relationships, etc. I will include one or two of each in my upcoming blogs until they're all covered.

I hope to see you guys at church tomorrow! :D

Now, for my favorite part, my weekly recommendations!

Website: www.stumbleupon.com It's awesome! Whenever you get bored, it will provide you with hours of endless entertainment. You create a free account, select whatever topics interest you, then click the stumble button. Each time you do, it takes you to a new page. It's a good way to kill time and find new things.

Reminder: If you are registering for summer classes, check out www.ratemyprofessor.com . You can look up reviews on most professors, to see who's good and who sucks. Sometimes it's the difference between an A and a C. Check it out!

Book: Stuff Christians Like by Jonathan Acuff. We discovered it in Barnes & Noble last night. At first it looked like something offensive and weird, but it wasn't. Well, it wasn't offensive anyway. We stopped to read it, and it's actually awesome. It's written by a christian author, and basically takes a comical look at Christianity, but not in a mocking way. It's one of those books that you have to actually read to see what I mean, but it's worth it.

Drink: Okay normally I'm not a big drinker, particularly since I like to actually remember what I did the next morning, but I do like to taste test! Anyways, if you're a fan of fruity drinks, I'd recommend trying the tropical sunrise margarita at Chilis. It's yummy! I think it's $6.99, but it's a pretty big cup. Also, don't forget that Drinking + Driving = NO.

Movie: Big Stan, featuring Rob Schneider. It's hilarious! It is a wee bit raunchy, so not for younger kids, but definitely good for adults. You can buy a used copy for $1.20 on www.amazon.com, so price isn't an issue, and you will definitely laugh.

Product: Now normally I stick to recommending Aloette products, but I'm making an exception this time. It's called Udderly Smooth Foot Creme. Weird yes, the container actually has cow prints on it, but it's amazing! It you have gross, scaly, or dry feet, you NEED to use this!!! It's cheap and effective. You can find it in the pharmacy section at Walmart.

Store: Ross, where you can dress for less! I love that place. There's one on Centerville rd in Garland, before you hit 635. For those of you that are fond of dresses that are affordable and cute, it's perfect! They have stuff there for everyone though. The secret is repeat visits. They get new stuff about three times a week, sometimes you won't find anything, but other times you find an entire basket full. It's fun, like a treasure hunt.

That's all for now, but I really am going to try for more posts soon!

Weekly Tidbits 4/13/10

Hello lovelies!
I hope you are are doing fine and jolly today. Personally, I'm sleep deprived as usual, but quite happy. I just got back from seeing Valentine's Day. The ending is not at all what you'd expect, but it's hilarious! It's kind of like the American version of Love Actually. I'd recommend it, especially if you don't like the holiday.

For those of you in Garland, in case you weren't aware, at the Cinemark Hollywood USA on Shiloh rd, it's only 50 cents per movie all day on Tuesdays. This also applies to the Starplex Cinema 10 in Mesquite. I already blogged about that, this is just a recap.

As for the new bits, the theater on Shiloh rd is now offering 75 cent Monday family movie nights. Yay for more cheapness! The only catch is you have to but 3 tickets at once to get the discount. Either way, not bad.

That's all for now!

wow, back to existing

Okay, so two months, no blog, some of you might be wondering where the flip I went. I was closing the Hollywood Video in Mesquite....That was INSANITY!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to be free! Of course, now I get to find a new way to pay bills, but first, sleep!!!! I might actually have more time for this finally. The long blogs take forever, so I think sometimes I'll just make short ones with interesting info. Tata loves!

For Your Amusement Between Blogs

Hello Lovelies! I'm still recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed and dying with homework, so it's taking me a while to get everything situated blogwise. To keep you amused, I'm doing a short mini blog with some of my favorite youtube videos. Some are silly, some are raunchy, I'll let you know. The next blog is going to be about some awesome programs featured at Watermark Church. Enjoy!

My cousin made this one. It was in a previous blog, but so awesome it's making another appearance.

"Shoes" by Kelly. There's a big chunk of swearing towards the end, but I love this video it's ridiculous.

This song is a random jam, it'll get stuck in your head.

The stupidity of hypothetical men amazes me :P

I love watching The Nanny. This is hands down, my favorite part of the entire series. I tivo'd it and watch it whenever I need a manly guffaw lol.

The best of scrubs

ridiculous commercials, you'll laugh

that's all for now!

Random Tidbits

Hello lovelies! As promised, I am posting blogs more regularly(okay, sorta..)! Now I know I said that this one was supposed to be about the Transiberian Orchestra, but the last time they were in Texas was in December, and there's not a time set for them to come back yet. Uh, my bad... I did however find some random stuff for y'all.

School:
First of all, I know for a lot of us that college classes are about to start. For those of you who still haven't registered, check out www.ratemyprofessor.com. It's an easy way to find a good teacher right away instead of finding out on the first day of school that you got a bad one and can't transfer out. There's a ton of schools with multiple reviews. If you go to one of the DCCCD schools, type in Dallas Community Colleges instead of the individual name. It's easier to find. Also for those of you new to Richland, don't go to the bookstore on campus. It's too expensive. There's a bookstore across the street(The side on Walnut) that's small, but helpful. They have everything for much cheaper, and also buy back your books for a considerably better price.

Texting & Talking In School Zones:
Not the best idea to begin with, but now it's also illegal all through Texas, not just in certain areas. I didn't know until my dad told me, but now y'all know.

My Weekly Recommendations!

Just Because: Get some sleep people! Everyone, myself included, is too occupied with their crazy schedules to take care of their bodies. Turn off the tv and take a nap!

Movie Recommendation: 7 brides for 7 brothers. Holy frickadoo, I love this movie. It came out I think before I was born. This is a real musical, the actors can dance like crazy and sing beautifully. It is hands down one of my favorite movies ever.

Donation Recommendation: As many of you know, there was a recent earthquake in Haiti that was a complete disaster. Many people were wounded or killed, and there are many more who are now without food or water. They need all the help you can give. To donate, go to www.klty.com. There's a section in the middle that says "Haiti's Children." Click the donate now button to make your contribution.

Website Recommendation: www.prayfortara.com. Basically, the power of prayer. I saw the link on the back window of a car on the way to work one day. The power of prayer goes a long way!

Product Recommendation: Aloette's Restorative Enzyme Peel. I am totally in love with this product because I got instant results. No lie, it looks like some radioactive goop in a bottle, but it's awesome. It gets rid of all the dead skin on your face without pulling at or damaging the rest of your skin. It's 52% aloe vera. The rest of it is natural fruit enzymes, and it smells good too. To get a one time use for this type of product at a day spa, you pay $75-$100. We sell you a jar full of 30 treatments for $39.95. (Yay discounts!)

Instructions For Use: You're supposed to use it once a week. Spread a small amount over your face, and wait for the enzymes to activate. Usually it takes 30 seconds to a minute, sometimes it varies. You'll know because it will start to feel slick. Then rub your fingers in small(gentle, don't tug) circular motions over your face. You will start to feel little balls roll up under your fingers. That's the dead skin rubbing off. Gross, but very cool. Your face will have never felt so soft.

Don't believe me? I'll prove it! I can come show you the products and how they work in person. You can contact me at heatherloos@yahoo.com if you want to know more.

I know this blog was a bit scattered, this is why we need sleep!! I should be in bed already, sheesh. Either way, good night dearies, get some sleep. :)
